What is a gum lift?Gum lifts are used to even out an uneven gum line, make teeth appear longer, and create a more attractive smile. They're used with patients who have excessive gum covering the front teeth and an upper lip that comes up high when they smile causing them to be self-conscious about their "gummy" smile.What is involved?The procedure includes the numbing of the area and removal of the excess gum. The patient applies antiseptic mouth rinse on the gums as they heal.Gum lifts aren't painful, but some mild discomfort can occur a day or two afterwards.
