What are porcelain veneers?Porcelain veneers are used to whiten teeth, close gaps between teeth, "correct" a crooked smile without the need for braces, repair chips and imperfections, and create a more attractive, more youthful-looking smile.What is involved?Veneers are custom-made porcelain wafers that are placed over the front of the teeth to enhance their appearance and/or repair damage. The procedure involves removing a thin amount of tooth enamel, taking molds (impressions) of the mouth and then placing in a temporary veneer while the permanent veneers are being made. This usually takes less than two hours.Next, our laboratory carefully crafts the porcelain into veneers. In approximately two weeks, the veneers are ready to be affixed to the front of the teeth. They're then checked for comfort and fit during several follow-up appointments until you're completely satisfied with your new smile. How long will porcelain veneers last?Veneers can last many years when taken care of and can dramatically change your smile and help improve your self-confidence as well as improve a variety of cosmetic dental problems.I'd like to know more.
